
6 DAYS TRIP QUEEN ELIZABETH, BWINDI AND LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK
Day 1
Begin your scenic drive towards the west with a brief stop at the Uganda Equator for photographs and proceed to a next stop in Mbarara town for lunch. Get back on board and journey to Queen Elizabeth NP. The drive traverses the park as you drive to park headquarters thus an occasion to see some animal species especially the gigantic Savannah Elephant and the toothy Warthogs. Check –in Mweya Safari Lodge for Dinner and overnight.
Day 2
This morning is dedicate to total game exploration as you wake up very early in the morning to catch glimpse of the animals before they escape daylight while others welcome the day in delight after a long night rest. Antelopes like the waterbucks and bushbucks among others can be seen. Look out for lion and leopard as they stalk the antelopes and much more. Get back to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation by the pool or anywhere therein. After lunch, prepare for an afternoon boat ride on Kazinga Channel. This stretch of water that links Lake Edward to Lake George is believed to have the highest concentration of hippos as they spend all day swimming and cooling their bodies and crocodiles as they keep their saw-like jaws open can also be seen in big numbers. The channel supports abundant bird life that feed on the fish and parasites from the hippos. Evening return to the lodge for dinner and overnight
Day 3
Early check-out of the lodge and transfer to Kyambura gorge for an occasion to see Chimpanzees after which you proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Spend the rest of the evening in the home of the mountain gorillas. Relax and prepare from the gorilla trekking activity the next day. Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Lodge
Day 4
The long awaited day is here; wake up very early, have your breakfast and packed lunch. Assemble for briefing by the ranger guide, get hold of your walking stick and follow your group guide to enter the misty gorilla sanctuary to begin trekking activity. Keep discipline as you hike the forested ranges and listen to instructions given by your ranger guide. Maximum silence is required as you approach the gorilla nest as it keeps the great apes in the normal state of behaviors hence an ambiance to see them in their natural way. Maximum time allowed with gorillas is only 1 hour thus as soon as the guide advises. Return to the Buhoma lodge with lifetime memories with the fascinating Mountain gorillas.
Day 5
It’s time to leave this morning and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park as you continue to explore Uganda’s abundant wildlife. The drive itself takes you through banana plantations, farms of the Long-horned Ankole cattle, villages and trading centres. Feel free to ask your guide to stop for pictures and sight views. Arrival in Lake Mburo National Park in time for lunch after which you embark on a game drive where you will sight a number of animals as well as bird species some of which are endemic to the park make the ride worth taking. Your dinner and overnight is reserved either in Mantana Tented Camp or Mihingo Lodge.
Day 6
Today, get your walking shoes on and follow your guide for a walking safari. This is a unique and unrivalled experience that the park offers given the fact that there are no carnivores recorded in Lake Mburo NP. Get to see Zebras, Elands and Impalas among others on foot.
Travel back to Kampala. Arrival is late evening with a drop-off at either the airport for evening flight or hotel in Kampala.
