PRIMATES EXCLUSIVE (6 DAYS, 5 NIGHTS)
Day 1
Begin your exclusive primate safari with an early morning drive westwards over hills and down valleys and finally end your 4-5 hours’ drive in Kibale Forest National Park. Spend the rest of the evening resting in the fresh forest ambiance. Relaxation, dinner and overnight at Ndali lodge or Kibale Bandas
Day 2
This morning, wake up with the quest for adventure, listen to the briefing by the ranger and enter chimp sanctuary for chimpanzee tracking activity. Kibale Forest is the largest hardwood forest south of the Sahara and is a haven for more than 12 monkey species and forest elephants among others. The guide provides detailed information regarding the different plant/tree species and the diversity of animals that roam the dense forest. After an exciting adventure, return to the lodge for lunch and then take an evening walk in Bigodi swamp. The walk creates an avenue to wildlife that lives in and around the swamp especially birds that are endemic to the area. Spend the rest of the evening at your hotel Ndali or Kibale Bandas
Day 3
This morning, the course of the primates’ exclusive safari leads to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Arrive in time for lunch after which you embark on a boat-ride on Kazinga Channel and this opens you to fascinating views of large numbers of hippos, crocodiles and abundant bird life. Relax for the rest of the evening at Mweya lodge.
Day 4
Today’s adventure commences with a morning visit to Kyambura gorge to see Chimpanzees and the deep gorge itself is a unique physical feature. Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and spend the rest of evening enjoying the cold breeze of the Impenetrable forest as you prepare for the trekking activity the next morning. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Lodge
Day 5
Endure an early rise and join the rest of the group for a briefing by the ranger guide. With your packed lunch, a walking stick and a porter if you have equipment, enter the impenetrable forest and begin your trekking activity. Expect trekking duration of 3-8hrs. Follow instructions by the guide and keep maximum silence in the presence of the great apes. Maximum time allowed with gorillas is only 1 hour thus voluntarily follow your guide back at the dot of its elapse. Remember to leave nothing but a footprint and take nothing but memories and photographs. The activity is rewarding though strenuous hence return to the Buhoma lodge and spend the rest of the evening relaxing.
Day 6
After breakfast, pack your bags and endure a 10hrs long and scenic drive back to Kampala with a stop in Mbarara for lunch. Arrive in Kampala later in the evening and drop-off at either the airport for your late International flight or your hotel.
